Raise your hand if you find this:

Off-putting

Scary

Maddening

Cruel and Unusual

Existentially all too in touch with the groundlessness of being...

or

Subversive

Light

Unencumbered

Open and Inviting

Homey

Me… I thought I could rock the Arial - Microsoft Blue - hidden gridlines. But I’m not sure I have the backbone for living in the void to quite this degree. I might be losing my nerve. Shit.

  1. like I said in the previous comment thread: ROCKIN’ REDESIGN! HOW EXISTENTIALLY UNSETTLING!

  2. And this makes you want to come visit this place?

    You jest…?

  3. I like it. I like clean design. The only thing that bothers me is how there is no space between the comment boxes and the sidebar. Other than that, it’s definitely a place to visit regularly! Tell your bro nice job!

  4. Cool, CP; thanks!

And yes, I had never viewed this blog in the the OTHER browser before. It looks quite bad there, now that I look.

This is sort of a plus. :)

  6. wow, it DOES look bad in IE, doesn’t it? why is that always so?

  7. i loves it! this is my favorite. do arial and all is coming!

  8. …Because you believe you’re losing your nerve
But could you ever do better than that?

Because all you ever wanted were a place to call your home
To shelter you when you are there and to miss you when you’re gone
All you ever wanted were a place to call your own
Where stars will dance and sun still shines and the storms feel free to roam

I listen you for a while
    But I can’t decide if you’re aware that I’m on trial (?)

  9. This is pretty frickin’ spartan in IE, yes. But if you can dig it, I can dig it.

    Posted by: patrick · Feb 8, 01:37 PM · #

  10. Well… I have decided to warm it up a little bit. Not much, but at least so as it doesn’t unsettle me (or, I hope, you). I am not so spartan anymore.

I wonder if this means I passed the trial, or if I failed. Oh well.

Meantime, everyone, use Mozilla Firefox to greatly improve your experience of the internet. Do it today. It is clean.

  11. I like it.

  12. Ok. Alex warmed it up. I really like it. I will do Arial and all is coming.

He was going to tweak it so it looks right in the other browser, but I think it’s too funny to fix. So we’re leaving it. Thanks for the feedback…

  14. ooohhh, and a splash of green…

  15. No unsettlement here. Do I ascertain correctly that you don’t care for this business of tweaks and bodges of the template? I think your first group of adjectives might properly precede ‘Owl.’ The second group of adjectives is for the loyal readers.
